I’m Ashlea, a Community Paramedic and Preventative Health & Engagement Lead at HMS Community.
I’m an AHPRA-registered Paramedic with a dual diploma in sports and outdoor recreation, dedicated to reducing avoidable hospital presentations through person-centred, preventative, and transdisciplinary care. I’m passionate about holistic and inclusive healthcare that supports people to stay well in their homes and communities.
With a background as a School Paramedic, I bring a unique perspective to my role and strongly advocate for preventative health models that address root causes rather than symptoms alone, while connecting individuals to the right supports. My work is grounded in early intervention, health education, and meaningful community engagement.
My special interest areas include youth health, neurodiversity, menstrual and women’s health, LGBTI+ health, and exploring the fundamentals of wellbeing. I’m a strong advocate for the evolving role of Community Paramedics within innovative, community-based healthcare systems.
Outside of work, I enjoy all things nature (particularly trees), along with cooking, playing netball and gardening.
